Thrive and Succeed In Your Business – 10 Tips To Help You

I wanted to share with you 10 tips to help you thrive and succeed in your business.  Having worked with all types of businesses from small sole trader operations to large, multinational corporations, these are things the most successful ones do.

1. SWOT Analysis

Identifying Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats within your business will give you an improved understanding of the current position you are in.  It requires you to look at your business objectively giving you a different perspective.  Being aware of Weaknesses and Threats can aid you in future-proofing your business and areas for possible external collaboration or outsourcing.  Knowing your Strengths and Opportunities can highlight areas to specialise in, potential growth areas and help you define your marketing message.

2. Identify your UVP (Unique Value Proposition)

Why should a customer choose you over the competition?  It’s vital that you understand this so you can target the right market and ensure you deliver clear messaging to your potential customers.  Every business has something unique that sets them apart.  At Financial Goddess, we can work with you to identify your UVP.

3. Prepare a Business Plan

A business plan that includes actions for growth, marketing and financial aspects of your business can be invaluable. Failing to plan, is planning to fail. At Financial Goddess, we can help you with this.

4. Branding Your Business

Think about the impression you want to make. For most businesses, you are the face of your business. So, focus on how you want your brand to be perceived.  A quality logo and style is the core of building a strong brand. It’s what makes you recognisable to your potential customers.

5. Choose support team of experts

Family and friends are great, but not everyone is lucky to have family and friends who understand your vision and are experts in what you need. From your SWOT analysis, you would have identified your weaknesses. These are the areas you need expert help in and it will be unique to your business.

6. Sales Funnel

Focus on creating a sales funnel that incorporates brand awareness, interest, engagement, commitment and sale process.  If you can automate as much of it as possible, that will ensure you have a steady flow of leads without having to spend too much time generating them.

7. Concept, Strategy and Execution

Have your Concept, Strategy and Execution clearly outlined for yourself and your team. When everyone is clear about the processes within the business, it ensures you are all pulling in the same direction to achieve success.

8. Set weekly goals and define them

Setting weekly SMART goals that are clearly defined will ensure you are focused on what you want to achieve. With laser focus, things tend to fall into place more easily.

9. Reflect, Review and Plan

At the end of each week reflect on what went well and what didn’t go so well.  Review anything that might need to be tweaked for improvement and Plan for the following week.  This way, you can learn, develop and grow incrementally each and every week.

10. Have a growth mindset

Always be open minded to learn more.  Ask “How can we do this better?”, the attitude of “if it ain’t broken, don’t fix it” is not useful for the rapidly changing way of doing business, especially with technological advances.  You want to stay ahead of the competition and the only way to do this is to constantly seek to improve your knowledge and skills across all areas of your business.
